Bella passed away in the arms of her devoted big dog mum after a short illness.

She stole our hearts and gave us so much, so to see her suffer was very difficult, but not as difficult as watching her slip away from us with the help of our fantastic vet.

Bella and her attitude will live on with us forever. The memories will fade, but like this blog our love for that little blind dog will last for a long time.

Don't tell him - but I will miss him and his fat tummy whilst I'm away!

Well as you know I’ve been a bit poorly over the past few weeks, and am just getting back to my usual irritable self. I’m back to my usual barking in the evening just to get on the big dogs nerves and getting them up at the crack of dawn to visit the garden.

But I’ve pushed my luck a little too far – and I’m being sent away with smelly Molly for a week. We’re off to Tania’s, which is ok because it’s a dogs only guesthouse, but Tania runs a strict regime and won’t put up with the sort of antics I get up to at home.

It’s all early to bed, late to rise, eat when you’re told to, and I’m sure if it was required cold showers. I like going to Tania’s because she has lots of dogs to stay, and I usually get the sofa or easy chair, but sometimes I have to share which is not a concept that I understand and take to easily. Sharing is all about thinking of the other dog – well bollocks to that concept.

So a week away from my mum and dad. I shall miss them both – but don’t tell them, or it will ruin my street cred as a rough tough dog with attitude.

Molly gets very excited when we come back and runs round the garden. I would like to run round the garden but can’t so I just give a little low key wag of my tail, have a little drink and then go to sleep -but inside I’m really happy to be back home.

I got told off reference Gordon’s erection. Apparently it was the election he was worried about. Still Rastus my mate who is one of the security dogs still managed to put a view of his “special” pills in Gordon’s tea, so at least Mrs Gordon will be able to experience what the whole country is experiencing under his leadership!

This is what I've been doing all week, but I'm getting better now

Sorry there has been no posts recently but I became really ill last week and felt so terrible. I had lots of stingy injections to take my mind of the pains in my tummy and lots of antibiotics which taste horrid.

At one stage  there was talk of me having to go to the vets for the last time! Well as soon as I heard that I realised it was time for a late rally, and here I am a week later chatting to you as if nothing had happened. I’m still trying to milk every last bit of sympathy out of the situation – that way I get fresh poached chicken and lots of extra attention.

But I was very ill and I remember being curled up in my basket giving up the will to bark again when my mate Molly came up and gave me a huge doggy lick and encouraged me to get well. I really like Molly she’s a bit of a lump and a bit smelly, but she’s very kind.

The big dogs made lots of fuss and the vets were very kind, even when they had to force pills and potion down me – I was so upset I exploded in their car park.

So it’s going to be a slow recovery, more news on my return to good health later.

I’ve also heard from some of my doggy chums. Rastus the security guard dog at No 10 phoned to find out how I was, and said that Gordon was getting very concerned about an erection. Rastus has that problem so he’s going to drop some pills into Gordon’s tea so that will cheer him up-so to speak.

I may be clean--- but I'm not happy about it!!!

What the hell is going on?

Just because I’ve started to scratch a bit more than usual, does not give the green light for the big dogs to give me a bath. A bath at my age!

I’m a dog and I like to scratch,  I love a good scratch, and I love smelling like a dog rather than some dreadful sweet smelling flower.

So there I was smelling and scratching like a normal dog when out of the blue I was put into a warm bath up to my ankles and rubbed all over with some bubbly stuff. Then it was massaged in and then I was sprayed with warm water and then rubbed all over with a nasty rough towel and then made to suffer blasts of hot hair – some of which went right up my f***y.

I ask you what an absolute outrage. Bad enough to be subject to being washed and made to smell like a big dog, but to have warm air blasted up your ***** is just not on.

I shall get my own back. I’ll never forget that hot air.

I'm better off outside when I've been eating cat food!

I may be old, blind, and a bit potty – but when I get a chance at cat food I take it.

The big dogs were at the other end of the house and they left the stinky cats food where I could find it, and I was off. Munching and crunching the lovely stuff until I was discovered and sent to rest it off. My poor old insides really objected to the rich and fatty food, but it was worth it.

A few hours later and I was letting off the most discreet but pungent farts that even made my eyes water – but it was worth it. I’m hoping that my insides survive the rest of the evening but what do I care,  the big dogs will just have to put up with another nights broken sleep – because I can assure you I don’t care. I’m a blind dog with attitude.

I’m the sort of dog that says  Gordon Brown may have a fundamental grasp of economic principles but he’s still looks like he could do with a rocket up his arse – I just don’t care, I’d just feel sorry for the poor rocket!

Hang on I think it’s time for my dementia pill – I wonder what day it is?

This my last season coat that I am having to wear again - it's just so unfair

Well the big old dog is still using the busy excuse for the lack of posts. If I used the sleep excuse I would never ger out of bed – sometimes we just have to do things we don’t want to do or think are just ridiculous. I think it’s because he’s lost his touch and going through a  ”dry” phase as they say in copywriting circles.

Still the big news this week was the silly old sod went to help out in a restaurant kitchen a few days ago. Ha Ha I wish I could have seen him dressed up in his whites – he must have looked like a huge version of me – as I’m white over, or I was the last time I could see. Anyway Smudge said she saw him getting into his kit just to make sure it still fitted and off he went.

Well when he returned he smelt like a pole cat – and I like pole cats. For the first time he smelt divine. Lots of raw meaty smells and pungent fishy smells, all mixed together with the smells of cooked meat, herbs and spices. Molly and me grubbed around in his chefs kit for ages just to make sure that he hadn’t brought back a bit.

That probably accounts for my upset tummy today. I feel really rough and had to get my lovely mum up at 4.30am because I felt like shit. Now it’s a bit later and having exploded outside I am beginning to feel a little better, but It’s going to one of those weekends.

Well some of you will have noticed that the big old dog has failed to put up a new post for  few days.

His excuse is that he’s been busy with some copywriting excuse – something about a speech for a dentist and having to see someone called Fat Bob.

You know he does talk total bollocks sometimes!

Well my lovely mum has been really busy and taken some great new pics of me and the other animals which I have arranged to put for you all to see. Now I’m the really pretty one and Molly I think looks OK, but the cats just look silly and they smell really bad.

Mind you I’ve been smelling really bad over the weekend as I’ve had the usual upset tum which gave me the good old exploding bum. You know it’s very hard to be dignified when you are having a serious out of body experience and all you can hear is the big old dog making a right fuss.

The good news is that I’m a lot better today and able to bark and be a bit of a nusience.

Hopefully it will be quiet week with plenty of free time top be lazy and sleepy. I could do with a week of doing absolutely nothing -  just like normal!

Go away! I'm having a lazy day today

Well the big dogs are off to work. They have been home for ages and getting in the way of my peace and quiet.

They are always doing something or playing the wrong type of music during the day, or this weekend making nasty paint smells. It’s all doing doing doing and not enough doing bugger all. So all the signs are that Molly and me are in for real treat today – yes you’ve guessed it, a whole morning of radio 2 and a long lazy snooze.

I’ve been looking forward to it for ages and have stocked up on extra kibbles and water so that I can hibernate for a least 6 hours, and then be gently awoken by my lovely mum who will let me out, give me some lunch, and then settle me down again for an afternoon of doing bugger all.

I can’t understand what the big dogs think is so great about doing things all the time. Be mellow and just relax.

Mind you I haven’t forgotten that I’m still waiting for a new winter coat and I’m not happy that Molly has a new bed, but I shall just have to let that go so that I can get the maximum benefit of a day of peace and relaxation.

This is Molly's new pillow thingy - with me on it!!!

First it was a new coat-which I didn’t get. Now Molly has a new bed thingy which is really soft and comfy.

What do I get – nothing. I’m still having to worry about being seen out in last seasons outfits and having to sleep on my old fluffy thingy whilst others enjoy new coats and soft springy pillows in their beds.

Well I’ve had enough. So this morning while old Molly was stuffing her face I found her bed with her new soft comfy pillow thingy and moved in. Yes I’m a squatter. And I can confirm that the other half have it very nicely thank you. Her bed has loads of room and this new pillow thing is just great.

I have to say that it doesn’t smell as nice as mine, and it’s not as fluffy, but it’s new and I haven’t had anything new for at least a month.

It’s got to be my turn soon. Even the big old dog has had a new jumper. It’s so unfair.

I'm on walk strike - so piss off

This could get to be an issue.

Someones got a new winter coat – and it’s not me! My lovely mum purchased a new coat today and as yet there has been very little discussion as to when or if I’m getting a new one. How unfair.

The weather is on the change and in the mornings I can tell you it’s getting quite chilly. The old big dog has requested that his “winter” overcoat be made ready so what about me. Well this morning after I had stuffed my face I promptly curled up into a little ball and pretended to be fast asleep – no walks out of me I said.

So they had to take me out later when it was much warmer and I didn’t need my new coat which I haven’t got yet. If my old coat starts to make a reappearance then I shall bite it and tear it to shreds – that’s if I can get hold of it when nobody is around and then I shall blame it on the stinky cats or Molly.

I told you I want that new coat, and I want it now!
