There will be no more blogs from our little blind dog with attitude Bella.
Bella passed away in the arms of her devoted big dog mum after a short illness.
She stole our hearts and gave us so much, so to see her suffer was very difficult, but not as difficult as watching her slip away from us with the help of our fantastic vet.
Bella and her attitude will live on with us forever. The memories will fade, but like this blog our love for that little blind dog will last for a long time.
If you discover this blog by accident or design then have fun – and say a prayer for our very special blind dog that will always have a place in our hearts.

My condolences on the loss of Bella. Our eleven-year-old rescued border collie Chelsea is blind in one eye, and all the more precious to us for that. When my wife and I try to imagine life without her, we fail utterly.
I appreciate the way you gave Bella a voice, and imagined the world through her point of view. I try to do the same thing in a joint venture, a collaboration I just started involving me and the central character in a novel I wrote. That character is the dog of a friend, the inspiration for my story. My blog’s domain is justbillandthemister.com

Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Barry. Many thanks for your kind words. The past month has been a challenge and each day we have moments that are difficult. Bella’s blog was created because even though blind she had a personality and attitude that made her so much more than her blindness. She touched the heart of many because she was vunerable, but we seldom felt sorry for her because she did not feel sorry for herself. Every day she got up and got on with her life and we became part of it, on her terms not ours. We never know the hour or the day when things change forever – we just have to make the very best of every moment. I think that is what Bella did and when she slipped away in her “mothers” arms I’m pretty sure that she was as happy as she could have been.
I hadn’t visited your blog in a while, and came across it today. My hear goes out to you and “mum”. I loved reading your blog, as we also have a blind Jack Russell, Maggy. Maggy is up in her years and was recently diagnosed with dementia, so this opens a whole new realm of issues. She was terrible funny before, but now her antics are quite bittersweet- we don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Thank you for your wonder blog.
Hi Dottie. Maggy is a lucky dog and you are facing some of the same issues we had with Bella. Bella had dementia but it was controlled with medication. Laugh and cry – we did both, and so will you, it’s what makes us human and loving. My best wishes for the journey ahead
